Lesson Outline
Auditing as a profession can be traced back to centuries B.C. However, it was only in the 20th century that the profession was codified into law. In South Africa, the 1950’s saw the creation of PAAB, followed by IRBA in 2006.
Since then, the profession has undergone major restructuring and changes, and our Auditing profession Act is no exception. As an auditor, it is imperative that you understand the requirements of the legislation, as well as the consequences of non-compliance.
Join us in this webinar as we discuss the requirements of our APA, and consider recent outcomes of inspections and investigations.
• Functions and powers of IRBA
• Registration requirements of auditors
• Auditor’s conduct and Liability
o Rules prescribed by IRBA
• Reportable irregularities
• Inspections, investigations and disciplinary actions
• Offences and penalties
